The Mondays of the Ancient Village

In the heart of the Lido’s summer, Relais Alberti opens the gates of its secret garden to host a weekly event that weaves together conviviality, memory, and authenticity: The Mondays of the Ancient Village.

From June 23rd to August 25th, every Monday starting at 7:00 PM, the enchanting Corte degli Agrumi, nestled within the historic 18th-century palace in the village of Malamocco, comes alive to welcome residents, friends of the island, and lovers of the territory, in an intimate and relaxed atmosphere, surrounded by music, Venetian cicchetti, and sunsets scented with Mediterranean herbs.

The initiative is a tribute to the tradition of the Luni del Lio, popular gatherings that, between the 18th and 19th centuries, marked Monday evenings on the Lido of Venice. After the day’s work, people would meet along the salt marshes or in the fields, sharing food, singing, and dancing. It was a simple, spontaneous moment, deeply rooted in the community life of the island.

Today, Relais Alberti chooses to give new life to this tradition, transforming it into a contemporary experience while remaining faithful to its original spirit: a space of connection and beauty, dedicated to those who live on the Lido and love it in its truest essence.

Each evening offers:

• An aperitif at €20 including 5 Venetian cicchetti and 1 drink
• A DJ set among the trees, with a carefully curated musical selection to gracefully accompany the sunset
• A refined, intimate atmosphere with limited seating to ensure the quality of the experience

The Mondays of the Ancient Village are proposed as a new summer ritual, dedicated to the people of the Lido, to Venetians, and to all those seeking an authentic experience, respectful of the local spirit — a way to start the week with lightness and a sense of belonging.
