Events between Alberoni, Pellestrina, and Malamocco
Discovering the most magical places in the Venetian Lagoon
Taking care of the small islands surrounding the main one—the fish-shaped island that hosts St. Mark’s Campanile, the Rialto Bridge, and the campos and calli of Venice—is of great importance. These are places that hide not only small secrets but also centuries-old stories, villages, and lots of greenery. Places that go beyond tourism and city chaos, offering peaceful oases where you can spend unique days. We’re talking about Malamocco, once the ancient port of Padua and a favorite setting for Hugo Pratt’s Corto Maltese; Pellestrina, a self-contained ecosystem of fishermen and lace makers; and the Alberoni, with their unspoiled nature loved by Luchino Visconti and protected as a WWF oasis.
Today we present three opportunities to explore these lesser-known corners of Venice, alone or in good company.

In the heart of the Lido summer, Relais Alberti opens the doors of its secret garden for a weekly event that weaves together conviviality, memory, and authenticity: I Luni dell’Antico Borgo. From June 23 to August 25, every Monday from 7:00 PM, the enchanting Corte degli Agrumi inside the historic 18th-century palace in Malamocco comes alive with music, Venetian cicchetti, and sunsets scented with Mediterranean herbs. This initiative pays tribute to the traditional “luni del Lio,” popular gatherings that enlivened Monday evenings at the Lido between the 18th and 19th centuries. More info.
Music also echoes across the islands of the Venetian Lagoon, bringing emotions to the most enchanting places. In July and August, concerts continue to delight audiences from the Lido to Burano and Pellestrina. Discover more.
Summer also comes alive with local festivals, authentic celebrations where local wines are enjoyed alongside traditional dishes. From the Festa della Madonna di Marina in Malamocco to the Sagra di Sant’Antonio and Festa dell’Apparizione in Pellestrina, each island celebrates its unique identity with music, togetherness, and genuine flavors—a perfect opportunity to experience Venice like a local: simple, sincere, and full of warmth.
